What I do
About me
For the past ten years, my life has revolved around the field of psychology and studying human behaviour. I obtained my Degree in Psychology at the University of Stellenbosch (Cum Laude), with a second major in English Literature. Apart from my passion of being in service to others, literature and creative writing are some of my biggest loves. I then went on to complete my Honors Degree in Psychology (Cum Laude) at UNISA, while working full-time in relationship management in a corporate environment. I completed my BPsych Degree in Psychometric Assessments, while working as a research assistant at Stikland Therapeutic Ward in Cape Town. Upon completion of the internship, I began consulting as a Registered Senior Psychometrist at a Neuropsychology Clinic in Cape Town, where I worked for several years and also provided supervised internships.
I value continued personal development, and find that I am able to do this through mentoring and studying. Therefore, I have also broadened my scope of practice by attending two lay counselling courses presented by FAMSA (Family and Marriage Society of SA). From here, becoming a registered Life Coach was a natural transition, so I completed the Integral Life Coaching internship offered by UCT, and went into private practice. I am currently registered as an Integral Life Coach (Registered with COMENSA) and an Independent Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
When I am not consulting in private practice, I guest lecture at the University of Stellenbosch and am involved with module/ course development for various universities across South Africa.
In my personal life, I dedicate my time to animal rescue and educate children and families on caring for their animals and themselves. I run a private, non-profit outreach project (Pooch Project) that focuses on building community and donating to animal shelters across Cape Town.
